Flying at 10AEF (RAF Woodvale)

On Sunday 4th June 2023, 4 cadets from 1026 were given the opportunity to go flying from RAF Woodvale with 10 Air Experience Flight (AEF).

 

Arriving at 08:30, they were briefed by the staff from 10 AEF and were all able to get into the air. The conditions were fantastic, with low winds, very good visibility and warm temperatures. Each cadet got a 30 minute sortie with experienced pilots in an RAF Grob G115-E Tutor.

 

One of the cadets, Cadet Whitehead, got to fly with the Officer Commanding (OC) of Liverpool University Air Squadron, Squadron Leader Jenkins. He said “It was great to be able to chat with and meet the OC, as I am considering getting involved with a University Air Squadron when I apply to go to University. I also really enjoyed flying too. It was the best thing I've done with Cadets so far.”
